A Bit About Me

Hi, I'm Anne Marie and I'm so happy you're here! I'm also excited to share a bit about myself and Ola Bola's story.

I've spent much of my adult life traveling, both for fun and for work. I believe that travel enriches our lives and makes us more compassionate humans as we encounter people with different knowledge and viewpoints from our own.

I've been fortunate enough to see beautiful beaches, attend music festivals, enjoy city living, camp in stunning wilderness, and also get stuck in airports. Many many airports. On countless occasions while adventuring I've thought to myself: wouldn't it be great to have something lightweight and comfortable with me to recline on right now?!

Then a few months ago I was at a beach in Peru, and I noticed one of my cousins carrying around a small bean bag for the beach, and I thought: I can modify something like this and make it suitable to travel anywhere! So I began playing around with designs to make it more comfortable, universally portable, and suited to a wide array of adventuring

One evening, we started kicking around idea names for this new product, when suddenly it clicked: Ola, which is the Spanish word for "wave" evoking the beach, and "Bola" meaning ball, for its round shape akin to the sun. Ola Bola entered the chat, and I haven't looked back since.

The Ola Bola Original Travel-Anywhere bean bag is water-resistant, machine-washable, and lightweight (<2 LBS). The adjustable strap makes it perfectly portable, even while riding a bike. The zippered compartment allows you to store important items so you don't need to bring another bag. And most importantly for digital nomads like me: it compresses to fit under your seat in an airplane cabin.

Thanks for reading, and please let us know how you're using your Ola Bola!

Love,
Anne Marie
